Lehman Brothers has appointed Richard Noble as a managing director in its European power investment banking group. He joins from Royal Bank of Canada, where he was managing director and head of energy and utility resourcing.

His hire follows nine appointments over the past two months and 30 over the past 18 months in a drive to boost profits from investment banking.
