The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange is targeting retail and high-net-worth investors in a concerted drive to expand its equity derivatives product offering and ramp up Liffe Connect, its electronic trading system, in Europe, writes Miles Gregory-Costello.

Retail investors in the US are already regular users of equity futures and options to manage the risk in their equity portfolios. They are also more comfortable buying shares online.
