Lloyds TSB has hired the chief executive of the European arm of CIBC, the Canadian bank, to be its new managing director of financial markets.

Mark Preston, former head of CIBC Europe, will replace Brian Milne, who retires at the end of the year after a 34-year career with Lloyds TSB.
