The London Stock Exchange Group is considering launching a 24-hour trading service, a move which would pit it against other global bourses that have applied for regulatory permission to allow round-the-clock stock trading.

The group is exploring whether it can extend current trading hours beyond 4.30pm, the technology required to do so and the potential regulatory impact, according to a report in the Financial Times, which cited people familiar with the matter.
