London’s Tulip tower should be a monument to Brexit — either way

London's proposed new tower could be a symbol of a City liberated from the EU's shackles, or an expression of gratitude that Brexit was not a good deal worse — either way, it works

The criticism of the proposed new viewing tower for the City of London was entirely predictable. It was too tall, it was too expensive and the money would be better spent on something more useful.

There is always opposition to any new development. But Sir Christopher Wren’s Monument to the great fire of London went ahead anyway and proved a very successful addition to the City skyline.
