The former co-head of Deutsche Bank's investment banking business, once tipped as a potential leader of the German lender, has become the latest big-name hire at Perella Weinberg, the independent adviser.

Marcus Schenck, who left Deutsche in April following the appointment of Christian Sewing as chief executive, has joined Perella as a partner. He will be based in London and start in February, according to a statement.
