Nomura has hired a former head of European equity sales at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, who left to join a hedge fund start-up two years ago.

The Japanese investment bank has hired Mike Ward as head of equity sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, based in London, according to a written statement from Nomura.
