Misconceptions keep investors away from hedge funds

Investors continue to display great distrust in hedge funds despite the industry's best efforts to educate them, according to Hugh Lawson, co-head of Goldman Sachs' $5bn (€4.6bn) funds of hedge funds business.

Speaking at the Mar Hedge European conference on hedge fund investments in Paris, Lawson told delegates: "The industry must address the numerous misconceptions among investors regarding taking active risk through hedge funds."
