Netia proposes increasing share capital 24-fold

Shares in Netia fell 1.5% after the largest alternative telecoms provider in Poland said it might ask shareholders for permission to issue stock worth 24 times its existing share capital.

The operator, which has an equity capital of 31.4 million shares, has proposed that shareholders allow the management board to issue as many as 741 million more. At the market price of 4.75 zlotys, the new stock would be worth Z3.5bn (€965m).
