Newton CEO joins Bank of England’s board of directors

Three new appointees will help set the strategy and budget of the central bank

The Bank of England has appointed three new non-executives, including the boss of Newton Investment Management, to its board of directors.

Hanneke Smits, Newton’s chief executive; Frances O’Grady, general secretary of the Trades Union Congress; and Rohinton Kalifa, executive director at Worldpay, will begin their four-year terms at the Court of Directors on June 1.
