NYSE dismissed in Calpers lawsuit

The New York Stock Exchange was last night dismissed as a defendant in a lawsuit bought by the California Public Employees' Retirement System, the largest US public pension fund, which accused the exchange and seven specialist trading firms of profiting at the expense of investors.

Calpers launched the landmark suit against the NYSE and the specialist firms in December 2003.
