UK pension savings rates rise but there is still further to go

News Analysis: The largest pension funds in the country are offering more to members, but still much less than their parents received

As hundreds of thousands of UK workers are auto-enrolled into pension schemes, the number of individuals saving is slowly rising, according to new figures, but the current generation is still putting away much less for retirement than their parents.

The UK government's idea to auto-enrol everyone into a workplace scheme, introduced last October, is going well, according to the data from pensions consultancy Towers Watson.
