PM Johnson takes flak from MPs over aide’s lockdown breach

MPs say Johnson's adviser Dominic Cummings has provoked public fury with a 260-mile trip to his parents' house during lockdown

UK prime minister Boris Johnson was visibly frustrated during cross-party questioning from senior MPs on 27 May, as they grilled him on his defence of his special adviser Dominic Cummings from accusations he broke lockdown rules.

Johnson was repeatedly challenged over his support for Cummings, but riposted by blaming the media for what he described as false accounts of Cummings’ actions, insisting he had seen evidence that some allegations against Cummings were untrue.
