The former chief financial officer of Energias de Portugal, a power group, has rejoined UBS after six years to head up its European utilities team for mergers and acquisitions.

Rui Horta e Costa has been appointed to replace Herman Deetman, who left the Swiss Investment bank in April to join Deutsche Bank.
