Private equity optimism builds as survey shows recovery in progress

A survey of US buyout professionals sounds a positive note for private equity's ongoing recovery

Optimism among private equity executives is building, with positive data on deals and defaults supporting a recent survey which found portfolio valuations were rising as the global economy slowly emerges from recession.

The survey of more than 100 US-based private equity professionals, by accounting and consulting firm BDO USA found 70%, saw the overall value of their portfolio rise last year.
