Project finance bond volume jumps in Europe

The rise of infrastructure and project finance bonds is the latest example of companies tapping the debt capital market for financing

Western European project finance bond issuance has surged, reaching $11 billion year to date, a trend that underscores the rise of non-bank finance in the sector.

The strong deal volume so far this year compares with just $1.1 billion of deals in the whole of last year, according to Dealogic. Infrastructure bond issuance in western Europe comprised $4.8 billion of this year's to-date total.
