The Investment Property Forum (IPF) is launching a three-year research programme into the UK's property investment industry. The organisers hope it will allow the asset class to be more accurately compared with other investments.

The initiative is supported by 16 businesses, representing a cross-section of market participants. Among the fund managers providing initial funding are Prudential Property Investment Managers, Morley Fund Management, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and LaSalle Investment Management.
