Prudential is expanding further in Asia despite continued uncertainty about the UK insurance company's merger with American General.

Prudential said Wednesday that it had signed a deal with Allstate Corporation, the largest US listed personal insurer, to buy its majority holding in PT Asuransi Jiwa Allstate in Indonesia and Allstate Life Insurance of the Philippines for £7.5m (€12m).
