RBS derivatives head loses out to ABN Amro equity boss

The global head of Royal Bank of Scotland’s equity derivatives business has become one of the first high-profile casualties at the UK bank as it combines its investment banking business with that of ABN Amro.

David Samuel, RBS’s top equity derivatives banker, left the bank last month, and will be replaced by a senior ABN Amro equity banker, following a merger of the two businesses, according to a source close to the bank.
