Franklin Templeton Investments is to buy a UK boutique renowned for its active, high-conviction approach to investment — and launched by a former staff member at the US fund management giant .

Franklin Templeton, with $753.8bn in global assets at the end of December, has agreed to acquire Edinburgh Partners, which has just under $10bn.
