Fairfax Financial, a Canadian insurance company, has reportedly filed a $6bn (€4.7bn) lawsuit against several US hedge funds, including SAC Capital Partners, accusing them of spreading lies in order to drive down its share price.

According to Bloomberg, Fairfax alleges the hedge funds published negative research about the insurance company's accounting and business practices and harassed its employees.
