Deutsche has hired a senior investment banker to manage its relationship with technology giant SoftBank, the Japanese firm with a $100bn venture capital fund run by several of the German lender's former executives.
The bank has named Sandeep Kamat as vice chairman within its corporate finance division. A former UBS banker, who has held senior roles within both its wealth management and investment banking division, Kamat joined the German bank earlier this month. He has responsibility for covering SoftBank as well as family offices and some of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds.
