Almost two thirds of equity analysts would recommend securitisation as a source of funding, but one quarter are not even aware of the product, according to a survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

PwC's European securitisation survey will make interesting reading for professionals in the asset-backed market. The survey, which canvassed 300 equity analysts across various industry sectors, concluded: &quotOver 25% of those approached were not aware of securitisation, or did not know what it was.&quot Of the analysts who were aware of the product, 75% felt they did not have a good understanding of it.
