Standard Chartered appoints global FX head

Asia-focused British bank has named two former Bank of America Merrill Lynch executives to key foreign exchange and options roles

Standard Chartered has promoted its regional head of FX, rates and credit for Europe and Americas to a newly-created global position and has hired a former Bank of America Merrill Lynch colleague to a new options role.

Chris Allington, who has been with the Asia-focused British bank since 2010, is to be global head of FX. The position is a newly created role which expands his control of FX beyond the west region of Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Latin America, and gives him responsibility for the bank's important Asia region.
