JP Morgan has lost its third senior equity analyst in a week following the departure of the US bank's head of European telecommunications research to HSBC, as competition for top-rated equity analysts drives salaries to record levels.

HSBC has today announced that it has hired Raj Sinha, who was head of JP Morgan’s European telecoms team in London for the past four years.
