An investment banker who helped float Ashmore in 2006 has been named as the new chief financial officer of the specialist emerging markets fund manager.

Tom Shippey, Ashmore's head of corporate development and a former UBS banker who worked on the group's IPO, will succeed Graeme Dell as CFO. Shippey joined Ashmore in 2007.
