The former head of workplace savings at Legal & General has stepped up to become chairman of Capital Cranfield, one of the largest independent pension trustee firms in the UK market, replacing Bob Bridges, who had held the role for three years.

Tony Filbin, whose 34-year stint at insurer L&G ended in early 2014, joined Capital Cranfield, which works with more than 200 UK pension schemes, in May of the same year as a non-executive director.
