The head of US fund manager Nicholas Applegate Capital Management's London office will leave in September, less than a year after the group set up its first international base.

Nick Melhuish, who joined Nicholas Applegate in 2003, is understood to have signed a long-term contract when he returned to London last October that prevents him from leaving sooner.
