Trading Places: Bird flies Abrdn, Gorman gives up Morgan Stanley chair

Abrdn chief executive Stephen Bird stepped down. The former Citi executive is handing over to chief financial officer Jason Windsor on an interim basis amid a tough run for the fund house.

Former Morgan Stanley CEO James Gorman will step down as executive chair of the board at the end of the year. Gorman was Morgan Stanley’s long-time chief executive until 1 January when Ted Pick took over the helm. Gorman previously said that he planned to stay on as chair for no more than a year after Pick took over as CEO.
