Barclays tapped a partner from consulting giant McKinsey to lead its mass affluent business as the UK bank continues its wealth push. Sid Azad was hired as head of mass affluent and growth and will play a key role in shaping Barclays’ strategy for its private banking and wealth management business in the UK and crown dependencies.

Standard Chartered hired HSBC veteran Keith Welch to lead its M&A business in Europe as part of a broader expansion at the UK lender. Welch joins Standard Chartered as head of M&A and diversified industries for Europe. He was latterly head of UK M&A at HSBC.
