Transparency drives absolute returns

Investors want hedge fund managers to give them greater insight into their internal controls more than they want transparency of portfolio positions and pricing, according to a survey published by Northern Trust, a fund administrator.

A survey of European investors found 100% felt there was a need for greater clarity in a fund manager's operations. Only 69% said they saw a need for details of securities held in the portfolio and how and when they had been priced.
