Two weeks to go for hard Brexit prep, warns EU regulator

The European Union’s markets regulator has warned UK finance firms they have two weeks to apply to set up a subsidiary in the bloc as insurance against a no-deal Brexit.

In a brief statement on Thursday, the European Securities and Markets Authority said it had “seen an increase in the number of authorisation requests” and warned that several national finance regulators in the EU have set deadlines of “the month of June/July” for receiving such requests.
