UK private equity firms seek bolt-ons as big deals dry up

Political turmoil and rising prices stymie dealmakers, KPMG study finds

Brexit uncertainty, rising prices and a scarcity of quality assets caused a sharp drop-off in UK private equity deals in the first quarter, according to the latest figures.

But with buyout firms’ cash piles still at record levels, private equity fund managers are turning to smaller, bolt-on transactions in order to keep spending.
