Vanguard recruits for renewed European push

Vanguard, the $4tn US index fund manager, has hired a new sales chief for continental Europe, responsible for co-ordinating an expansion drive in the region.

Thomas Merz will be based in Zurich and report to Sean Hagerty, head of Europe, Vanguard said in a statement. He will oversee European distribution, excluding the UK.
