Jack Bogle, the veteran investor and founder of US low-cost fund management giant Vanguard, was honoured at Financial News’s 17th Asset Management Awards last night with the coveted Lifetime Achievement award, in recognition of a career spanning more than 40 years.
The 89-year-old, who launched the first-ever index fund in 1976, addressed more than 250 guests gathered at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London via a recorded video message from Pennsylvania.
