Wall Street bank chiefs are eyeing another strong quarter for their stock trading businesses following the market impact of US president Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Trump’s levies of up to 50% on some of the US’s closest trading partners have triggered major global market volatility since they were unveiled at the start of April.
