Weaker pound hits EU banking’s €1m earners

Number of high earners drops in European Banking Authority's latest analysis

Weaker pound hits EU banking’s €1m earners

The number of high earners at European banks has dropped according to the latest industry analysis, largely due to a weakened pound in the aftermath of the UK's vote to leave the European Union.

There were 4,597 people paid more than €1m in banks in the European Union in 2016, according to regional watchdog the European Banking Authority, which published its latest data on the topic today.
