WestLB Panmure has kickstarted its private placement business, naming the full complement of investment bankers it poached last week from Durlacher Corp, the internet investment firm, as well as another hire from a US investment bank.

WestLB previously had no presence in the area of private placements but now has a team of four professionals to help it develop its new business.
