European IPOs crash 80% as 2022 hammers capital markets

European capital markets suffered their worst year for equity raisings since 1995 last year, as IPOs and follow-ons slumped.

In total, €89bn of equity was raised on European exchanges in 2022, down 61% on the year before, according to the Association for Financial Markets in Europe.
