One of the UK's largest pension schemes has teamed up with major institutional investors in the US and Kuwait to invest in the next generation of private equity managers.

The venture between RPMI Railpen, the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation and the Public Institution for Social Security of Kuwait comes as major investors around the world increasingly look for alternative sources of long-term returns.
