3i India Infrastructure invests in GVK Energy

The UK private equity house has made the investment from its $1.2bn infrastructure fund

3i Group said it has invested $182m for a 21.1% stake in GVK Energy, a subsidiary of GVK Power and Infrastructure, one of India's largest and most diverse infrastructure developers.

UK firm 3i has made the investment from its $1.2bn India Infrastructure fund that it raised two and a half years ago to capitalize on India's commitment to invest $450bn in infrastructure projects in a five-year period.
