Aberdeen Asset Management has set up a seven-strong unit in a bid to drive the growth of its alternatives, long only multi-asset and quant division, and propel the fund manager’s diversification drive away from equities.

The Aberdeen Solutions Investment Specialists team is based in London, and headed by Christian Howells, who was previously the investment house's hedge funds product specialist. It forms part of the Aberdeen Solutions division.
