Aberdeen raises £100m to buy Old Mutual's life operations

Aberdeen Asset Management is raising £100m (€161.2m) via a convertible bond issue to buy Old Mutual International, and its related service companies in the UK, Isle of Man and Jersey.

Aberdeen will use the placing of £100m in convertibles due 2007 not only to fund the acquisition of the Isle of Man-based life company, but also to pursue further growth opportunities.
