Aberdeen to bolster bottom line with property arm float

Aberdeen Asset Management, the troubled fund manager at the centre of the scandal involving split capital trusts, is to float its successful property division to boost its finances.

At the same time, six senior executives have stepped down from Aberdeen's main board with immediate effect. They include Katherine Garrett-Cox, Aberdeen's chief investment officer who joined the board only in December last year, and Ian Reid, chief executive of Aberdeen's property division, Aberdeen Property Investors (API).
