ABN Amro has offered long-term contracts and guarantees to the remaining staff at Hoare Govett, its UK corporate broking business, to stem departures after Citigroup hired seven of its most senior managers and approached up to 15 others.

The guarantees, which are understood to be for three years of fixed employment, are for almost all the remaining 63 staff at Hoare Govett and not just those approached by Citigroup.
