ABN Amro Asset Management, the funds arm of the Netherlands bank, has hired Shamus Young as the new head of its UK institutional business. He had been with Gartmore Investment Management for nine years and was head of global consultants.

At ABN Amro Young will have responsibility for relations with consultants worldwide, and will report to Frank Goasguen, global head of institutional sales.
