Abraaj founder Naqvi posts £15m bail in UK

US prosecutors have accused Naqvi of using investor money for personal gain and to shore up the buyout firm’s finances

Arif Naqvi, founder of the collapsed private equity firm Abraaj Group, has been released on bail in London after paying a £15m bond.

Naqvi, 58 years old, was granted bail in London’s High Court on May 3 but didn’t pay the bail money immediately, so he had to remain in London’s Wandsworth prison. He was released on Tuesday, a spokesman for Naqvi said.
