Deutsche Bank chief executive Josef Ackermann disclosed today that he is looking for new takeover targets at home and abroad.

In an interview with Handelsblatt, the leading German business daily, he said: "We are ready to take over banks in all markets where we are already represented and also in new markets, for instance in emerging countries with strong potential."
