Close Venture Management, managers of the Close Technology and General VCT, has made £20.9m (€30.6m) on its investment in Active Hotels, an online hotel reservation service, following its £90m sale to PriceLine.com.

In doing so, Close joins the exclusive club of the so-called ten-bagger deal, one which earns investors ten times their money.
