Advent International, the European private equity firm, has promoted Eric Adjoubel in Paris, just one week after closing its €2bn ($1.8bn) fund.

Adjoubel, who joined Advent in 1997, has been made managing director. He was hired to lead the expansion of Advent's French office, which has made five investments in the last two years, including the €892m buy-out of Lafarge's specialty building products division.
